Terms of Service
The terms and conditions governing our plumbing and heating services

These terms of service ("Terms") govern the provision of plumbing and heating services by DJ's Plumbing Services ("we", "us", "our"), a sole trader business, to you ("the customer"). By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service Scope
DJ's Plumbing Services provides professional plumbing and heating services including, but not limited to:
- Boiler installation, repair, and servicing
- Central heating system installation and repair
- Bathroom installation and renovation
- General plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Emergency plumbing call-outs
- Radiator installation and powerflush services
- Gas appliance installation and safety checks
- Unvented hot water cylinder installation and servicing
The specific scope of work for each job will be agreed with you in advance, either verbally or in writing.
2. Quotes & Estimates
- We provide free, no-obligation quotes for most work
- A quote is a fixed price for a defined scope of work. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated
- An estimate is an approximate cost and may vary depending on the work required once started
- If additional work is discovered during a job that was not included in the original quote, we will inform you and agree the additional cost before proceeding
- Quotes are based on the information provided and a visual inspection. Hidden issues (e.g. concealed pipework damage) may result in additional costs which will be discussed with you first
3. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing
- For larger projects, we may require a deposit or staged payments, which will be agreed before work commences
- We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or card (where available)
- Materials may need to be purchased in advance for certain jobs, and payment for materials may be required upfront
- Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
- You may cancel or reschedule a booking free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a call-out charge to cover lost time and travel
- If we need to cancel or reschedule, we will give you as much notice as possible and arrange an alternative time at your convenience
- For work already in progress, cancellation will require payment for all work completed and materials supplied to date
5. Emergency Call-Outs
We offer emergency plumbing services, subject to availability. Please note:
- Emergency call-out fees may apply, particularly outside standard working hours (evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
- The call-out fee will be communicated to you before we attend, where possible
- Emergency work is charged at our standard rates unless a higher rate has been agreed due to unsociable hours
- Emergency call-outs are designed to make the situation safe. Full repairs may require a follow-up visit
6. Gas Safe Compliance
DJ's Plumbing Services is registered with the Gas Safe Register, the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom.
- All gas work is carried out by a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer
- You may request to see our Gas Safe ID card at any time
- Gas work is completed in accordance with current Building Regulations and Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
- Benchmark commissioning checklists and gas safety certificates are provided where required
- If we discover an unsafe gas installation during our work, we are legally required to classify it and may need to disconnect it in accordance with the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure (GIUSP)
7. Guarantees & Warranties
- All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, unless otherwise stated
- Manufacturer warranties on parts and equipment (e.g. boilers) are separate and subject to the manufacturer's terms. We will assist with registration where applicable
- Our guarantee covers defects in workmanship only — not issues caused by misuse, third-party interference, or pre-existing conditions
- To make a guarantee claim, please contact us with details of the issue and we will arrange to inspect and rectify the work at no additional cost if it falls within our guarantee
- Work booked through Checkatrade may also be covered by the Checkatrade Guarantee (up to £1,000 for 12 months)
8. Liability
- We hold public liability insurance to cover damage or injury arising from our work
- Our liability is limited to the cost of the work carried out, except in cases of personal injury or death caused by our negligence
- We are not liable for any pre-existing defects in your property's plumbing or heating systems that are not related to our work
- We are not liable for consequential losses (e.g. loss of earnings, alternative accommodation costs) except where required by law
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
9. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area
- Inform us of any known hazards (e.g. asbestos) before work begins
- Ensure someone over 18 is present at the property during the work (or provide access arrangements)
- Provide accurate information about the work required
- Make timely payments in accordance with section 3
10. Complaints
We take all complaints seriously and aim to resolve them promptly. If you are not satisfied with our work, please contact us at [email protected] or call 07502 225764. We will acknowledge your complaint and work to resolve it as quickly as possible.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the services provided shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
