About wet room installation
A wet room is a fully waterproofed shower room with no shower tray or step: the floor itself is tanked and falls to a drain, giving a level, open space that suits homes wanting step-free access or a more spacious feel than a boxed-in shower cubicle. We fit them in Havering homes both as part of a full bathroom renovation and as a standalone conversion.
The floor is the whole job. We assess the existing structure and joists first, because a wet room needs the floor built up or down to create the fall towards the drain, and a suspended timber floor upstairs needs enough depth and stiffness to take that safely. Once we're satisfied the structure is right, we form the falls, then tank the floor and walls with a waterproof membrane, paying particular attention to the corners, the drain upstand and any pipe penetrations, since that's where wet rooms most commonly fail.

You have a choice between a linear drain, a slot set along one edge of the room, or a centre drain, which sits in the middle of the floor with the falls running to it from all sides; which one suits your room depends on its shape and where the drain can connect to existing waste runs, and we'll talk you through the options before tiling starts.
After tanking, we tile floor and walls to the agreed design, fit the drain and any glass screen, then test the drainage and check every joint before the room is signed off.

“Dan and his team have done an amazing job in carrying out a full bathroom renovation and fitting for us. From stripping back to brick, plastering, tiling and fitting our new furniture, communication was great throughout the whole process and deadlines were met. Work has been completed to high standards. Very professional and friendly, would definitely recommend!”
Bathroom Renovation · Checkatrade review, RM5
“Dan came promptly, told me what needed doing and seemed competitive against other quotes. We landed a date and he arrived on time. His (and Mitch’s) tidyness and respect were brilliant. I have them coming back to do another job as happy with first.”
